Who is the class for, and what are the prerequisites?

Power Users, Administrators, Designers and Developers. Windows and Microsoft Office skills are expected, but programming skills are not.

What is the Schedule?

There are 4 comprehensive half days of class, each with 2 additional hours of hands-on Labs following each day's lecture. Lectures will be presented live online each day from 9AM-Noon Pacific Time/Noon-3PM Eastern Time. Daily hands-on Labs will monitored be from Noon-2PM Pacific Time/3PM-5PM Eastern Time.

Can I take the class from home?

You can take the course wherever you find it convenient and have a fast enough internet connection. The course is offered via remote online instruction.

What Software and Hardware are needed?

To attend the course online using a PC you need: Internet Explorer 6.0 or newer, or Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or newer (JavaScript and Java enabled). Windows 2000, XP, 2003 Server or Vista. Cable modem, DSL or better Internet connection. Minimum of Pentium class 1GHz CPU with 512 MB of RAM (Recommended) (2 GB of RAM for Windows Vista). There is a mode for telephone audio (at the normal long distance rates your carrier charges you), but participants can connect to audio using free VoIP for which you will need a fast Internet connection, a microphone and speakers (a USB headset is recommended). For the hands on Labs students download a Virtual PC that includes Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Office 2007 as the virtual training environment (VTE). To install and use the VTE for the Labs should have 20 GB free hard disk space and 1 or more GB memory free to allocate on your Windows computer.

Can I use my Mac to attend the online course lectures?

Yes, for Macs the system requirements are: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or newer; for Browser, Safari 3.0 or newer, or Firefox 2.0 or newer (JavaScript and Java enabled). Cable modem, DSL or better Internet connection. Power PC G4/G5 or Intel processor (521 MB of RAM or better recommended). There is a telephone mode for audio (at your carriers standard long distance rates), or participants can connect to audio using free VoIP if they have a fast Internet connection, a microphone and speakers (a USB headset is recommended).

Considering it's a webinar, will students be able to ask questions? And others hear them along with the answers?

Yes. The class happens live online, and our setup allows students to ask questions and hear answers to their own as well as other student's questions. A moderator helps guide the conversational flow.

What must my company have deployed to make use of my new skills?

Windows SharePoint Services version 3.0 and/or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 ("MOSS"); and either/or InfoPath Forms Services (part of the Enterprise version of MOSS), or InfoPath 2007 on the client.
